Weaving together Balkan tradition and personal sensibilities, Rhyta brings the party.
Rhyta Musik, Michigan’s premier Balkan Brass Band, fuses together cultural traditions with modern sensibilities to present original compositions and Eastern European folk melodies. The band educates and uplifts communities with an understanding of cultural diversity and the importance of spending joyful time together. The ensemble consists of bass drum (tapan), snare, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, vocals, and a lead line dancer. Rhyta Musik performs often throughout Michigan and spreads its love of culture and diversity at venues including Cliff Bell’s, the Blind Pig, and the Ark, as well as festivals and conferences such as Arts Beats and Eats, Crash Festival, Homegrown Festival, Water Hill Festival, and the International Conference on Diversity in the Arts, SphinxCon.
"Rhyta Musik brings us the joy of sound and celebration, while building the experience together with its audience."
Suggested Entertainment FeeWith the goal of providing amazing hospitality with minimal rules, the Blue LLama Jazz Club doesn't have a mandatory cover charge when featuring local and regional artists. However, our mission is to bring the best talent to our community and you will see a “suggested entertainment fee” line on the check. While it's not required, you're welcome to add the suggested amount per person to help us continue our mission of presenting amazing music five days a week on the Blue LLama stage.
