Considered by the major entertainment agencies in the Detroit region as the most versatile solo guitarist in the area.
Born in Goteborg, Sweden in 1964, Jake Reichbart has lived in Canada, Israel and the Netherlands. However, since settling in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1991, he has become one of the busiest freelance guitarists in the greater Detroit area.
As a sideman Reichbart has appeared on countless recordings and jingles and has performed alongside Motown legends and jazz greats alike, performing more than 7,000 live gigs. His passion, though, has always been solo guitar and guitar trio, citing Joe Pass, wes Montgomery and Tuck Andress as his main influences, while creating a unique voice of his own.
Being considered by the major entertainment agencies in the Detroit region as the most versatile solo guitarist in the area has led to performances for two US presidents, Michigan Governor’s Inaugural Ball (three times), and countless other high profile performances for US and state senators and congressmen, civic and industry leaders and celebrities of all kinds.
Reichbart’s ability to arrange for the guitar nearly any tune imaginable, drawing from any musical style, has gained him a worldwide fan base through his YouTube channel and an ongoing contract with Hal Leonard Publishing Co to produce instructional videos describing his style. His albums 16 Songs and Long Ago and Far Away have received nominations for best jazz recording at the Detroit Music Awards and have garnered rave reviews from such prestigious publications as All Music Guide, Just Jazz Guitar, and Cadence, as well as numerous radio stations across the U.S. and abroad.
He travels annually to perform in France every summer. He has also offered jazz guitar clinics at the U of M, EMU, Oakland U, BGSU, as well as Berklee affiliate schools in France and Israel. Reichbart also holds a long standing weekly gig at The Earle, one of Ann Arbor’s most famous restaurants, performing there every Wednesday and Thursday for the past 27 years and going. He resides in Ann Arbor with his wife and three young children.
