An Evening with Don Hicks and Friends
Join the Blue LLama’s own team for some juicy and delicious home cooked Jazz! Accept no substitutes, all are welcome for this fun evening of jazz standards with a few surprises tossed in for spice.
Not long after the invention of the valved trumpet, local Ann Arbor musician Don Hicks was seen gigging around southeast Michigan with the Interlochen Jazz Band and the U-M Youth Band. After being seduced to the dark side for many years, Hicks eventually secured his freedom by slipping through enemy lines with the help of his musician friends.
Those friends join Blue LLama proprietor Don Hicks for a fun filled special evening of songs and stories. In honor of the Army-Michigan football game, and in tribute to fellow Veterans everywhere, all proceeds from this event will be donated to the Wounded Warrior project.
Suggested Entertainment FeeWith the goal of providing amazing hospitality with minimal rules, the Blue LLama Jazz Club doesn't have a mandatory cover charge when featuring local and regional artists. However, our mission is to bring the best talent to our community and you will see a “suggested entertainment fee” line on the check. While it's not required, you're welcome to add the suggested amount per person to help us continue our mission of presenting amazing music five days a week on the Blue LLama stage.
